Miles of Meaning is an independent public publication operated privately by Miclel Metekohy in the Netherlands. Contact rpe@milesofmeaning.com for privacy questions. Account-specific hosting retention and processing locations have not been independently confirmed; the hosting section explains this limitation.

What the application uses

The application has no newsletter, contact submission, advertising pixels, analytics SDK, account database or uploaded health records. Readiness and terrain choices stay in the current page. Search runs on this device against a shared content index. New searches use a URL fragment; avoid putting sensitive information in search or sharing its URL. Older query-string links may already have reached hosting logs.

Choices stored on your device

100k-theme stores your appearance choice; 100k-reading stores your text size and 100k-density stores your reading density. mom-app-icon stores your preferred app icon on this device; it is not synchronized to other devices. These local-storage values have no automatic expiry and remain until cleared by you or your browser. Offline guides are saved only when requested, in Cache Storage under 100k-offline-. They include a saved timestamp and content version, not an activity log. Remove them using Offline & installation. Clearing application preferences does not sign you out of the hosting service.

Hosting and external sources

The site is hosted on ChatGPT Sites. OpenAI publishes a Sites-specific data-processing addendum covering Hosted Data and distinguishes it from Site-creation conversations. Hosting may process request, device and security/access data. The hosting response has set a Cloudflare __cf_bm bot-protection cookie and can insert Cloudflare security-challenge code. Cloudflare documents expiry after 30 minutes of inactivity. Exact account-specific server-log retention and regional processing settings remain unconfirmed. Research links open independent services. Fonts and artwork are served by this site; there are no embedded external media or analytics scripts.

Your rights and contact

Use the contact route below for applicable access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability requests. You may complain to the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. Please do not send medical records or unnecessary personal information. Provider procedures and applicable legal bases remain under review.

Email correspondence

Contact opens your own email application; the site does not submit a form or send messages automatically. Correspondence sent to rpe@milesofmeaning.com is handled using Gmail. Your email address and message are used to respond to your request. The operator deletes emails within 90 days after the last message in the conversation; this is a manual retention commitment, not a verified automatic deletion rule. Please do not send medical records or unnecessary personal information.

Updates and recovery

mom-installation stores a random local installation identifier, release state, reader-confirmed icon, repair/recovery flags and the latest 20 lifecycle events. These diagnostics stay on this device and are not sent to an analytics service. mom-language can retain a restored language preference. Update checks request the same-origin release file; hosting can process those requests normally. Verified application assets use Cache Storage under mom-shell-. App & Updates can export a recovery file with display preferences and whether to re-download guides; keep that file private and delete it when no longer needed. Repair preserves preferences and saved guides. The separately confirmed local reset removes these application values and caches, not unrelated site data. There is no account synchronization.
